Final acceptance of retrofit and modernisation works on G2 wing of Grigore Alexandrescu Emergency Hospital for Children, Bucharest

The final acceptance of the retrofit and modernisation works on the G2 wing of the ”Grigore Alexandrescu” Emergency Hospital for Children, Bucharest Municipality, took place on Monday, 20 February. The investment objective is part of the "Project of risk mitigation in case of occurrence of natural disasters and emergency preparedness - Component B: Reducing Seismic Risk", financed by a loan from the World Bank and co-financed by the Government. The G2 wing of the ”Grigore Alexandrescu” Emergency Hospital for Children was built in 1886, having the destination for children's hospital from the beginning. The initial height regime was ground floor (with the exception of the central area, which was ground + first floor), and a series of expansion works were executed during the period 1935-1959. The retrofit and modernisation works were executed by sections, taking into account: to secure an existing unfolded area of 4,103 square meters, with 261 beds; to provide the vital utilities that condition hospital functioning in crisis situations; to improve the general exploitation conditions and to raise the level of medical services quality. The total value of the investment is 5,631,632.7 lei, of which: from the project (loan and co-financing from the Government of Romania) - 1,126,596.7 lei (representing 20%) and from the sources of the Sector 1 City Hall – 4,505,036 lei (representing 80%). The implementation was coordinated by the Project Management Unit within the MRDT (as project manager and coordinator of the retrofit and modernisation works), in collaboration with the Sector 1 City Hall (beneficiary of the objective). The ”Grigore Alexandrescu” Emergency Hospital for Children, Bucharest is the 19th objective finalised under the Project of risk mitigation in case of occurrence of natural disasters and emergency preparedness - Component B: Reducing Seismic Risk. |
