Several Romanian tourism destinations were included within the offers of the foreign tour operators present at the "Ferien Messe" International Tourism Fair in Vienna (held during the period 12-15 January) and the "Caravan, Motor, Tourismus" ("CMT") International Tourism Fair in Stuttgart (which takes place during the period 14-22 January). Some foreign agencies even chose Romanian tourism objectives to illustrate the covers of their presentation guides at the fair, and all the stays in our country offered by an Austrian tour operator were sold out. A great success among Austrian and German tourists also enjoy Romania’s stands, organised by the Ministry of Regional Development and Tourism (MDRT) within both events, which submit offers of tour operators from our country. At the "Ferien Messe" International Tourism Fair in Vienna, held during the period 12-15 January, the Kneissl Touristik agency offered a full tour of Romania (on the route Oradea - Sibiu - Brasov - Sinaia - Bucharest - Constanta - Iasi - Baia Mare, with stops at several monasteries in Moldavia and in the Danube Delta) and, on the cover of the booklet, the agency chose to promote Voronet Monastery. Holidays in Romania were also offered by other Austrian tour operators present at the International Fair in Vienna, Klug der Reiselöewe (which sold destinations in the Danube Delta and Transylvania), Gruber, Club 50 and Ruefa Reisen. Moreover, the offer for a Romanian stay with the destination Bucharest - Sinaia - Bran, offered at the fair by Austrian Agency Ruefa Reisen was sold out, as all available seats were bought. The Vienna International Fair was also attended by representatives of the Romanian tourism industry, who were present within the national stand, which was organised by the Ministry of Regional Development and Tourism (MRDT). The stand hosted 26 exhibitors, hoteliers, travel agencies and associations, local public authorities and tourism related economic operators. At the Romanian stand, the MRDT representatives distributed to the visitors promotional materials with the national tourism brand marks and brochures promoting Romanian destinations. At the "CMT" International Tourism Fair in Stuttgart, held during the period 14-22 January, Romania is present in the offers of many tour operators on the German market, among which Messerschmidt Reisen, Neckermann, ITS and Gebeco / Dr Tigges. They offer tourism products that are part of Romania's national tourism brand strategy (circuits, city-breaks, spa tourism, mountain tourism), as well as offers for the Romanian seaside. The MRDT also organised a Romanian stand at the Stuttgart International Fair, where 20 Romanian exhibitors are present with offers. Here, too, the Ministry of Regional Development and Tourism distributed promotional materials and brochures to promote Romanian destinations. The "Ferien Messe" International Tourism Fair in Vienna, held during the period 12-15 January 12, at its 37th edition, is the biggest fair of its kind in Austria. More than 800 exhibitors from approximately 70 countries were registered at the current edition. The previous edition had a number of 116,000 visitors, an over 3,000 of them were specialists from the tourism sector. The "Caravan, Motor, Tourismus" ("CMT") International Tourism Fair in Stuttgart, held during the period 14-22 January, at its 44th edition, is the biggest European fair dedicated to caravan and camping tourism, cruises and holidays with river and sea vessels, cure, treatment and wellness. Approximately 1,900 exhibitors from 180 countries were registered at the current edition and around 220,000 visitors are expected. The Romanian stands organised by the MRDT within the two international tourism fairs are financed from the European funds allocated to promote our country as a tourism destination, under the operation of creating a positive image of Romania by defining and promoting the national tourism brand (the Regional Operational Programme 2007 – 2013, Axis 5, Key Area of Intervention 5.3 - "Promoting tourism potential and creating the necessary infrastructure in order to increase Romania's attractiveness as a tourism destination"). |
