Ministry of Regional Development and Tourism (MRDT/MDRT)
The Ministry of Regional Development and Tourism (MRDT/MDRT) carries out government policies in the following fields of activity:
In these areas, the MRDT manages 48 programmes financed by European and national funds: the Regional Operational Programme 2007-2013 (REGIO), European territorial cooperation programmes, PHARE - Economic and Social Cohesion programmes, PHARE - Cross-border cooperation programmes, programmes of territorial development, housing construction, thermal rehabilitation of housing blocks, retrofit of buildings prone to seismic risk, development of rural infrastructure, construction of sports halls and cultural homes. Also, in the area of tourism, the MRDT manages 2 programmes aimed at developing tourism infrastructure development and at promoting Romania's tourism.
